A Just released York State Theater is section of New York City's Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts complex. A theater occupies a south side of the independent plaza (at Columbus Avenue & 63rd Street) that it shares with the Metropolitan Opera House and Avery Fisher Hall (home of the New York Philharmonic). A Just released York State Theater is house to two New York City Ballet and New York City Opera.

A theater was designed by designer Philip Johnson and opened on April 23, 1964.

the auditorium seats 2,755 & features continental style seating on the orchestra level, 5 “Rings� (balconies), faced by owning jewel-such as lights & a big ball-shaped pendant in the center of the gold wainscoted ceiling. A lobby areas of the theater feature examples of modern art.

The Kitchen
A non-profit black box theatre space and art gallery that features interdisciplinary performances, also available to rent.

The Public Theater / NY Shakespeare Festival
Founded by Joseph Papp in 1954 as the Shakespeare Workshop, productions continue to include new plays and musicals as well as Shakespeare and other classics.
